The Santa Teresa farmhouse is an oasis of relaxation in the centre of Val’Orcia, perched on a hill with beautiful views of the town of Pienza to the South, Montalcino to the North, and San Quirico D'Orcia to the West. Upon opening the door of your unique "Podere", you will feel as though you are in a renaissance painting.
Situated on the top of a green hill, the current house was built upon the remains of an old 1700s building, and thanks to the careful planning and construction carried out by the builder has given the farmhouse estate a new lease on life.
The builder utilized contemporary construction and design techniques, while adhering to the original architectural style and taking care to use only the same top-quality Tuscan building materials used in the 1700s. Combining history and innovation, respecting tradition while making use of the latest technology, the house has been finished to a high standard and boasts both a swimming pool and an A+ energy-efficiency certification.
The “Podere Santa Teresa” consists of 6,975 sqft, on two-floors, situated on a 29,385 sqft plot, and is enhanced by the presence of a large outdoor SPA and fitness area adjacent to its swimming pool. In total the villa consists of 5 bed / 8 bath. On the ground floor there is a large living room 159 sqm, a kitchen 30.26 sqm, two bathrooms, and a beautiful veranda. On the first floor there are the 5 bedrooms.
Tuscany is a land of art, culture and history, but it is also a place where you can have fun, relax and above all experience good living. It is characterized by sunflower fields, old farmhouses, olive groves, vineyards and stunning views. The backdrop to all this is the scenery of the Crete Senese, of the Val d’Orcia, Chianti, and the Maremma regions.
Val d'Orcia is a wide valley in Tuscany which lies between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, and to the North-East of Monte Amiata. It derives its name from the River Orcia which runs through it. The valley is characterized by its wonderful scenery and numerous towns and villages dating back to medieval times, of which Montalcino and Pienza are the best-known.
Since 2004, the valley has been a protected park and a World Heritage Site. Nature is the main attraction in Val d' Orcia: it is unspoiled and incredibly beautiful with its colors always changing with the season. This is the landscape that inspired many Renaissance painters of the Siena school.
Montalcino lies to the North-West of Monte Amiata, towards the end of the Val d’Orcia and on the boundary with the province of Grosseto. It is a fantastic example of a quintessential medieval small town. Today, Montalcino is the most prestigious and characteristic example of a historic town in the Val d’Orcia.
